Honouring Remembrance Day at Neptune House
This week, Neptune House has been thoughtfully and respectfully decorated to mark Remembrance Day — a significant time for reflection, gratitude, and honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.
Throughout the week, our children and young people engaged in a range of creative and reflective activities, taking great care in producing meaningful displays of poppies and wreaths. These thoughtful creations demonstrated not only creativity, but also a growing understanding of the importance of remembrance and respect. Each display served as a visible symbol of gratitude and reflection within our home.
These activities provided valuable opportunities for learning, discussion, and emotional expression. Staff supported conversations around courage, sacrifice, and history, helping our young people to explore these themes in a safe, age-appropriate, and supportive way. By encouraging open discussion and reflection, we supported our young people in developing empathy and respect for others.

At Prosperity Children’s Services, our values of Ambition, Compassion, Integrity, and Resilience guide everything we do. During Remembrance week, our young people showed compassion through the care and thought they put into honouring others, and integrity through their respectful behaviour and willingness to engage meaningfully with the topic. By learning about the challenges and sacrifices faced by others, they were encouraged to reflect on resilience, recognising strength in the face of adversity. Our ambition remains to empower every young person to grow into a respectful, reflective, and confident individual who understands the importance of remembering the past while shaping a positive future.
We are incredibly proud of the maturity, thoughtfulness, and respect shown by everyone at Neptune House during this important week. Through moments like these, we continue to support our young people in developing strong values, emotional awareness, and a sense of connection to the wider world.
